One Minute Chocolate Brownies
“ Sure, it is easy to make chocolate brownies. But it normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour and then you have to let them cool before you can cut them and eat them.”

Introduction:
So, I get cravings for chocolate.
A lot!
But sometimes I want something chocolatey that I can really sink my teeth into that just sends me to the moon in chocolate decadence.
And chocolate brownies are always my answer to that!
Sure, it is easy to make chocolate brownies. But it normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour and then you have to let them cool before you can cut them and eat them.
Sometimes, ok, all the time, that is just wayyyy tooooo long to wait for gratification that is supposed to be instant!
Since regular brownie recipes don't work quite well in the microwave, I searched around on line and discovered many "in a cup" microwave cakes and brownies. Frankly all of them have ben quite disgusting in one way or another.
And then .... I discovered a recipe that really wowwwed me! I made the best awesome instant chocolate microwave brownies!
These brownies cook in just "1-minute". Yep! Just a one-minute cooking time! And they are the perfect combination of cakey and fudgy, just the way I like them.
I did modify the recipe slightly. The total time from start to finish is 5 minutes. 2 minutes to melt the chocolate and butter, 1 minute to mix the other ingredients, 1 minute to cook, and 1 minute to cool (this gives you time to get out the ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce!)
With that said, here is the full recipe for 1-minute Brownies!
Here is the recipe to satisfy any chocolate craving instantly. However, please note that I did not post all of the photos here in the email, but you can see all the detailed directions and step-by-step photos here.
I do not recommend adding anything to this batter, like nuts, etc. They won't do too well in the microwave.
Ingredients for a single serving:
(But I always double it and divide into two mugs)

Only 5-ingredients for these awesome brownies!
- 1/4 cup semi or bitter sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp whisked egg (about 1/2 of a large egg)
- 1 tbsp granulated white sugar - leveled off
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour - leveled off
* Do not eliminate or lessen the sugar. The sugar does more than add sweetness, it also helps create the fudgy and moist texture.
* Make sure when you measure out the flour, you level off the measuring spoon with a flat edge, like the back of knife. Too much flour will make this brownie dry.

Chocolate & butter
Directions:
1. Using a small microwave-safe bowl (use one that can hold at least 6 oz of liquid), add chocolate chips and add the butter on top.
2. Cover the top with paper a towel and place into the microwave. Heat at full power, for about 50 seconds if butter is cold or 40 seconds if butter is room temperature. Butter should be nearly completely melted when you're finished.

Whisking butter and chocolate
3. Gently whisk butter and chocolate with a mini whisk until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

Whisk the eggs
4. Whisk the egg well and add it to the melted chocolate and butter and stir.

Mix the eggs and melted chocolate

Stir the batter

Add the flour
5. Add in the sugar and flour and stir until all the ingredients are completely incorporated.

Finished batter

Pour into microwave safe mugs
6. Pour batter into a microwave safe mug and cook the brownie at full power for 1 minute. (If making a double batch, only cook one mug at a time.)
Brownie should look done but may be slightly gooey around the edges with some bubbling holes.

Cooked brownies
Let brownie cool for at least 1 minute before eating. If you allow it to cool a little longer, it will have an even fudgier texture.

Top it all off with some whipped cream, chocolate sauce, caramel, and ice cream.
Sit back and indulge 🙂
*** By the way, the chocolate I used in for the recipe, in the background photo, is 64% Guyaquil by Cocoa Barry chocolate. A very fruity but earthy chocolate.
